    Steps to apply for UK education

    To study in United Kingdom student has to apply for a visa, it has two categories under Tier 4 of the points-based system:

    Tier 4 (general) student visa – this visa is for students coming to the UK for higher education. Applicants should be at least 16 years old.

    Tier 4 (Child) student visa – this visa is for children between 4 and 15 years. Enrol them in independent fee-paying schools.

    Students applying for short-term courses and are 18 years old are eligible for the short-term study visa. This visa is valid for up to six months. If planning for longer duration courses, you make sure that the institute holds a Tier 4 sponsor license.

    The United Kingdom offers opportunities for students to work after the completion of the course, and it requires a post-study work visa. Students have to apply for a separate visa to stay for work after their studies. 

    The UK post-study work visa allows international students to stay back in the country to search for their work up to 2 years after completing their graduation. Any international student having a Tier-4 visa and studying in a recognized UK higher education could stay back in the nation after graduating. This rule applies to bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD graduates. Once the PSW visa expires, students planning to stay back in the UK must apply for a skilled work visa or general work visa (Tier 2 visa).
